Handy VMware ESX NFS Commands
After migrating the networks on a few ESX servers the NFS mounts stayed inactive – I could browse them but no matter what I did they would not become active.
Two commands are useful here:
esxcfg-nas -r
This command will refresh the NFS subsystem which for me has worked everytime.
esxcfg-nas -l
This command will list all your NFS mounts – very helpful

VMware….
VMware’s support really let me down today. I had an issue with migrating a number of NFS mounted volumes from one interface to another which involved an IP change – even though the UUID is exactly the same – after many different calls, being turfed between the Storage and System groups – I am told that it’s actually based on the IP address and it’s built that way. This completely ..COMPLETELY fucks some network design I have done around 10gigE – good times and a great waste of a day
