I caught the above in my twitter feed this morning. The Smoking Musket is reporting that WV Illustrated itself has reported that the two will be staying for their senior year. I for one thought their departure for the NFL was a forgone conclusion. I am guessing the committee that advises undergrads on their potential draft position must have told them they would be low rounders. This doesn’t surprise me either since I expect a glut of underclassmen to be leaving early with the potential of an uncapped year/rookie salary cap on the horizon. This made for a buyers (i.e NFL teams) market and probably pushed Devine and Sanders down the board.

This couldn’t be better news for WVU however. Returning these two offensive weapons will make breaking in a new QB that much easier. Eugene Smith looks like he has all the talent to be able to slot into the offense – lets hope Stew et all can get him ready for next season.

To say that I am now worried about this week’s matchup between WVU and UConn is an understatement. With Brown hurt WVU has to rely on true freshman quarter back Eugine (Gino) Smith. While he did look pretty good finishing up the game against Marshall…he is still a true freshman.

Now what I want to see is… is Coley White possibly the second coming of Pat White? WVU fans can only hope he is just as magical
