Noel Devine and Jock Sanders returning to WVU?
I caught the above in my twitter feed this morning. The Smoking Musket is reporting that WV Illustrated itself has reported that the two will be staying for their senior year. I for one thought their departure for the NFL was a forgone conclusion. I am guessing the committee that advises undergrads on their potential draft position must have told them they would be low rounders. This doesn’t surprise me either since I expect a glut of underclassmen to be leaving early with the potential of an uncapped year/rookie salary cap on the horizon. This made for a buyers (i.e NFL teams) market and probably pushed Devine and Sanders down the board.
This couldn’t be better news for WVU however. Returning these two offensive weapons will make breaking in a new QB that much easier. Eugene Smith looks like he has all the talent to be able to slot into the offense – lets hope Stew et all can get him ready for next season.

Doc Holiday & WVU
While I was a bit disappointed to hear that Doc was taking the head coaching position at Marshall. It is an excellent choice by the Thundering Herd(turd ? at least lately) and has raised some question of what effect this might have on WVU’s recruiting in Florida.
Personally – I don’t expect there to be a big change. While he was an excellent Florida recruiter there are a number of others on Stewart’s staff that can fill the role quite readily.
I am more worried about poor Doc after his team’s loose over and over again to the Mountaineers….

Worries at WVU
To say that I am now worried about this week’s matchup between WVU and UConn is an understatement. With Brown hurt WVU has to rely on true freshman quarter back Eugine (Gino) Smith. While he did look pretty good finishing up the game against Marshall…he is still a true freshman.
Now what I want to see is… is Coley White possibly the second coming of Pat White? WVU fans can only hope he is just as magical

Pat White goes out a winner
It was the way it had to end for who could be considered college football’s greatest winner. In his last game as a Mountaineer Pat White did something he had never done before.. Throw for over 300 yards and 3 touch downs. The man who everyone considered suspect when it came to throwing the ball was zipping lasers to over 7 different receivers. How better way to end such a stories career than with such a different win.
I can only hope the rumors I have been hearing are true. If anyone deserves to have their number retired and enshrined in Mountaineer lore it’s number 5
Now let’s hope the NFL recognizes the talent and skill.

WVU vs UNC – Saturday 12/27
It looks like folks we be over at the manor for the game. I am mildly concerned about this game because it’s more or less a home game for UNC. People underestimate however just how well WVU travels – I fully expect a hoard of ‘eers fans to make their presence felt.
I think the WVU offense will come alive for this game – while this isn’t a BCS game it’s Pat White’s last game for WVU – the man has become the face of the program and it’s a very mutual thing – he has the Mountaineer tattooed on his right arm.
Who out there can’t wait for him to bring the ball down, juke the defenders out of their shoes and glide for a couple TDs?

A great costume
This was the popular costume in Morgantown, WV this year. Everyone’s favorite coach Rich Rod with this favorite cheerleader he was ‘seeing’ on the side. Just too funny.

Someone is in trouble in WV….
Looks like the shit is finally hitting the fan….. my favorite parts would have to be how the president is running the university like a lobbyist.

M.B.A. query caused flurry of calls among WVU administrators
TSK TSK TSK.
The rumors in Morgantown are that the controversy of Rich Rod leaving for Michigan were completely blown out of proportion just to try to blow smoke to cover this whopper…
This just smells …and smells dirty
