Homeland Security on guard for ‘right-wing extremists’

This article just starts out grandly:

A newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the possibility of violence by unnamed “right-wing extremists” concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out returning war veterans as particular threats.

So I fall into the category of extremist because I actually think I should keep the rights given to me as a citizen of this country?  *gasp*

Perhaps we should be more worried about the actual terrorists …and the people that are ARMED AND TRYING TO BLOW US UP!

If I had to guess – this probably cost $124 million to write

Homeland Security on guard for ‘right-wing extremists’.

George Will – Washington Post: The Toxic Assests We Elected

This latest plan to unfreeze the financial system came almost half a year after Congress shoveled $700 billion into the Troubled Assets Relief Program, $325 billion of which has been spent without purchasing any toxic assets. TARP funds have, however, semi-purchased, among many other things, two automobile companies (and, last week, some of their parts suppliers), which must amaze Sweden. That unlikely tutor of America regarding capitalist common sense has said, through a Cabinet minister, that the ailing Saab automobile company is on its own: “The Swedish state is not prepared to own car factories.”

And this is why I am againt these so-called “Bailouts”

Latin American Herald Tribune – General Motors to Invest $1 Billion in Brazil Operations — Money to Come from U.S. Rescue Program.

And yes – this is what ‘bailouts’ get you.  We are sending our hard earned dollars to Brazil.

Not forcing GM into a managed bankruptcy was a huge mistake.  A bankruptcy judge could have torn up the agreements with the unions, forced them to accept salaries that were actually valid for the work they were performing, and maybe allowed GM to compete on an equal footing.

Its about time to break the unions – they may have had their place perhaps even as recent as 30 years ago – but in the age of the internet and the ubiquitous camera phone, would something like child labor or unsafe work conditions really go unnoticed?  We all know it would be on youtube in 38 seconds.

What Bush doesn’t get credit for…..

Mr. Bush, for instance, has sent personal letters to the families of every one of the more than 4,000 troops who have died in the two wars, an enormous personal effort that consumed hours of his time and escaped public notice. The task, along with meeting family members of troops killed in action, has been so wrenching – balancing the anger, grief and pride of families coping with the loss symbolized by a flag-draped coffin – that the president often leaned on his wife, Laura, for emotional support.

The Ilinois Governor…

Is a buffoon. Who in their right mind so blatantly discusses selling a seat in the US Senate when you know for a fact you have been under investigation for over a year? Even worse, who does it on your office phone? Some people are stupid and then there is this guy. The evidence against him is incredibly damning, there are recordings of him saying everything…this isn’t indirect evidence or direct witness testimony…this is him …verboten.

The literal book needs to be thrown at him – this is corruption in the worst way. He needs to spend some time with Tiny in real prison…ass pouding prison.

Zogby International Poll : Post Election

Straight from the poll:

Just 2% of voters who supported Barack Obama on Election Day obtained perfect or near-perfect scores on a post election test which gauged their knowledge of statements and scandals associated with the presidential tickets during the campaign, a new Zogby International telephone poll shows.
